Participating in an Organic event is easy! Simply sign up for the group in the city/cities of your choice, and be on the lookout for upcoming events and messages for RSVP information!
When an event is planned in your community, you will receive a notification from Meetup! The description of the event will include all of the info you need to know like what the activity is, if there are any age restrictions, or the number of RSVP slots. If you want to participate, you simply fill out the RSVP form and press submit! All important information will come from the event organizer/host leading up to the event.
If you have multiple children, you do not need to create multiple accounts! You will indicate in a message or by answering an RSVP question which of your children will be attending. You can always reach out and message the host if you have additional questions, or if there are any changes!
While we are not holding Organic events in all communities at this time, we plan to roll out more locations soon! If you have questions about a specific city, please email Sam: sam@weareempower.org!
Yes! Anyone within our community may join whichever groups they would like! For example, if you are an avid traveler, or live in multiple locations throughout the year (e.g, college aged members), you can join multiple groups and attend events in all areas!
All participants must be a member of our Empower community (an enrolled family or screened Mentor/Volunteer). All events will vary and accommodate different groups/needs so it is important to read the event description! For example, some events may have age restrictions depending on the activity while other events will be open to all ages! All events will be specific to the type of parent loss and gender for now (e.g, girls/nonbinary youth who have experienced the loss of their father will attend events with others who can relate to the same type of parent loss).
In the future, we plan to include family events, events specifically for surviving guardians and even Mentors as we grow and continue to build community!
Year-round events are planned and produced by trained and screened Empower volunteers! If you would like to become trained to host an event in your community, click HERE to sign up or reach out to Sam directly: sam@weareempower.org and she will invite you to the next organizer/host training!
If you have any additional questions, please reach out to Sam Loutzenhiser: sam@weareempower.org!
