Help raise critical funds.

Empower relies on the tireless efforts of countless individuals and companies to carry out our mission. We look to members of the community to host their own 3rd party fundraisers on our behalf, to serve on an Event Committee such as Luminaria, join the Team Empower Charity Runner's Program, serve as a Grant Writer, become a Brand Ambassador and so much more!

Fundraising initiatives raise critical operating funds and, equally important, raise awareness about our life-changing programs. Luminaria, our flagship Mother's Day event, is held in May across 10 cities and relies on the generosity of countless volunteers to illuminate the night and honor our loves ones.

Support mission-related programs

Empower offers a one-of-a-kind Mentor Program and hosts in-person and virtual events and Initiatives year-round. Empower is in need of volunteers from across the U.S. who can serve as Mentors (men and women 25+ who have experienced the loss of any parent), volunteers to plan and produce local events for children and young adults (e.g. the Mother's Day Retreat, Cooking Classes, Yoga events and more), plan an Initiative (e.g. College Care Packages, Back-to-School-Shopping) and more.

Join our operations

Empower prides itself on doing a lot with a little! We are in need of operational support and activities include data entry, sponsor fulfillment, donor and volunteer operations, and other administrative tasks.

Help expand programs to all youth

We are looking for leaders in the community who can help to expand our programs to all children who have experienced the loss of a parent.

More specifically, we are looking for "Champions" for our cause - men and women who have experienced the loss of a parent (at any age) as well as family and friends who, as we say, "know and love a young person" who has experienced this devastating loss to join our cause.

Program expansion has been a part of our strategic plans for many years, and if you feel as we do, we would love to learn more.

Empower offers a comprehensive internship program in all areas of fundraising, mission and operations.

Empower Interns may be in need of college credit-bearing hours, or may simply be interested in learning more about the nonprofit sector and looking for valuable nonprofit experience.

Availability

Volunteers bring so many different talents to Empower and work tirelessly to further our mission. However, we know volunteers today are busy and we respect our volunteers' time and availability.
