MOTHER’S DAY EVENTS

This Mother’s Day, children, teens, and young adults from across New England came together for our 12th annual Mother’s Day event, a day to honor and remember our moms alongside a community of those who truly get it.

This year, we offered two incredible experiences side by side. Our girls and nonbinary youth gathered at Southline Boston from 11am–4pm for a day filled with connection, creativity, and self-care, while our boys and nonbinary youth headed to Fenway Park to cheer on the Red Sox vs. the Tampa Bay Rays.

Together, we shared stories of love and loss, made new connections, and reminded one another that no child has to grieve alone.

A heartfelt thank you to our venues, Southline Boston (and the wonderful Bettina!), Craft Food Hall for the delicious food, and the Boston Red Sox, with a special shoutout to Becca Springle from Community Relations for securing tickets and goodie bags for all the boys.

Thank you to our incredible committee members: Tanya, Arun, Molly, Colleen, Lauren, Jamie, Patrick, Eimear, Julianne, Jess, Alice, Jami, Carlene, and Kayla, your behind-the-scenes dedication made everything possible.

At Southline, our amazing facilitators brought the day to life: Colleen (opening circle), Kerrie (sound bath meditation), Michelle from SoulFire Movement (fitness & dance), Sara (music therapy), Stacey from Healing Hearts Child Life (bracelet-making), Alexandra and her crew from Petaloúda Salon, Amanda, Abbie, Jessica, and Rukhshona (hairstyling), and Town Nails Boston (nail art). Christine, Jamie, Jami, and Carlene led a beautiful closing reflection circle, and Heather, Kevin, Brenda, Rick, and Vicky from NEADS Service Dogs, along with their pups Henry, Marley, and Porter, brought extra comfort and joy to the day.

Over at Fenway, thank you to John and Arun for making sure every boy had a day to remember.
